Papaya is used as fruit, fruit salad and vegetable and its latex is use for making papain enzyme for medicinal use.
Important papaya varieties:-
Honey dew, Washington, Pusa delicious, Pusa majesty, Pusa dwarf, Taiwan 786 Red lady papaya.
Why Taiwan Variety:-
1. Taiwan Red Lady papaya gives high yield & both male & female flowers bears on the same plant.
2. Taiwan Variety is mosaic virus resistance.
Fertilizers after 1 month from the farming. (Basis: Per Acre) [Note: Encircle the fertilizer around the plant in 1-1.25 ft diameter.]
1. Calcium Nitrate – 15 KG.
2. Zinc Sulphate – 15 KG.
3. Humic Acid (Granular) – 5 KG.
