Very Long Glass PP grades are being used today in textured interior trim with a very good, consistent surface. We make injection moulds in China. Also, the failure mode will be more ductile with VLF products as the product will tend to tear as opposed to a catastrophic brittle break typical of short glass re-enforced materials. This may be more desirable from a product liability standpoint. RTP VLF 80107 CC or RTP VLF 80109 CC would be good options and can be easily colored. Data sheets are available on our website. If more stiffness and tensile strength is required, RTP VLF 80107 EM HS is an easy injection moulding grade that has better stiffness than the VLF PP and falls between the VLF TPU products and VLF PP in both cost and performance. A Class A surface gloss or satin look can be obtained with a higher than normal injection mould temperature with glass filled thermoplastic materials, long or short glass. We perform injection mould filling in China, FEA and other productivity analyses. We have over a hundred years of experience in these areas, along with the required tooling for each type of material. I personally teach injection moulding at a local Chinese University.
