Dry drum magnetic separators are used in the dry separation of ferromagnetic ores. These separators facilitate a more efficient milling and processing operation through an initial upgrade of the desired feed material, delivering a more productive plant for a lower cost per processed ton. The application of a dry drum separator lowers the beneficiation plants reliance on water and is environmental friendly. Depending on the magnetic intensity needed the magnet system can be either ferrite or rare earth.

This Dry Drum Magnetic Separator is designed for recovering highly magnetic material from a -1/8’ particle size feed of free flowing material. Maximum particle size of feed is 1 inch.

Dry Magnetic Drum Separator — Product application

1. Used for low grade ore preseparation. The concentration ratio of this equipment is high and the machine can improve the grinding grade by a large margin

2. Used for purifying iron ore concentrate and removing locked particle and gangue

3. Used for reselecting the gangue

4. Used for removing the magnetic impurity from powdery material

Ideal for rougher or primary beneficiation applications, our dry drum separators recover highly magnetic material through its permanent magnet designs, while discharging non-magnetic material. This reduces the amount of material fed to communition stages, lowering the costs of crushing and milling. Dry drum separators also act as an initial gangue material rejection stage, allowing for an increase of valued material to be fed to the plant.

How the dry drum magnetic separator works?

?

Feed material enters the feed hopper, the magnet assembly attracts the magnetic particles to the drum surface. The drum rotates about the permanent Ceramic 8 magnets, with non magnetic material falling from the drum into the non magnetic discharge chute, and the magnetic material staying on the drum until it reached the magnetic discharge chute (120 degrees from the beginning of the magnets). There are two splits made, magnetic and non magnetic.
