Description
A now-gone 115kV switch erected in the early 1980s; it originally split the single 115kV line into a loop, but the 115kV system was eventually arranged into a loop to and back from the WAPA substation on the northeast corner of Bismarck. By the time this picture was taken, the 41.6kV had been completely kicked off the bridge so that the north bays could be used to bring the 115kV over, and the last two 41.6kV circuits were made one and just run through the area (and eventually replaced by a permanent & acute;shoofly& acute; line).
Today, two riser towers stand on this site; a third one is located on the other side for the other 115kV line, all to take the two 115kV and a new 41.6kV tie line through the belly of the new bridge.
115KV switch tower
This photo refers to our 115KV switch tower, which is one single circuit monopole and with surge arrestor on pole body. It originally split the single 115kV line into a loop, but the 115kV system was eventually arranged into a loop to and back from the WAPA substation
These 115KV double circuit single poles can be manufactured as one large piece, or as several small pieces which fit together. This type of pole often used in city power transmission grid, with little space, economic and lower cost. Now MEGATRO can produce distribution pole with some type as follow:
