Ferrous & Non-ferrous Alloy
Description
Introduction:
Molybdenum (Moly) is a potent hardenability agent and is constituent of many heat treatable alloy steels. Moly corrosion improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steels. In iron, Mo is effective in strengthening and hardening causing austenite to transform to fine pearlite or to bainite.
Applications:
It is mainly used in steel-making as Mo adding agent. Steel with molybdenum steel could be having uniform fine crystalline structure, and increase the hardenability of steel, is conducive to the elimination of temper brittleness. In high speed steel, molybdenum can replace part of tungsten. Molybdenum alloy elements in conjunction with other widely used in the production of stainless steel, heat resistant steel, acid resistant steel and tool steel, and has special physical properties of alloys. Molybdenum cast iron can be increased on the strength and wear resistance.
