I System introduction
GPS Vehicle traveling recorder is a set of the high performance MCU which consists of our many years’ vehicle electronic experiences, and the high researching and developing teams, it isa digital and electric recording device which records and stores driving speed, time, mileage and other information about vehicle driving and could export data through interface. Interior integrate the GPS module and GPRS/CDMA communication module, it could be upload the location information, over-speed, fatigue driving, doubtful data, dispatching the letter information, uploading the photos etc through GPRS / CDMA. GPS vehicle traveling recorder also named DB44 all in one device.
Working principle:
when the vehicle is moving, the GPS Vehicle traveling recorder receives satellite (GPS) signals to obtain information such as longitude, latitude, altitude, time, speed, direction and satellite service conditions through calculation, and transmits the aforesaid information to the remote scheduling and monitoring center (or data center) with GPRS/CDMA network, and then the vehicle administration department conducts real-time remote scheduling, monitoring and management through a website which integrates GIS electronic map or through a GPS scheduling, monitoring and management software.

IIPrecautions
?
1. Please ensure that you buy a SIM card which complies with communication requirements and provides normal service (as for GPRS, please consult your local operator to ensure that the SIM card is enabled for GPRS function; and CMnet is the APN in Chinese mainland) If for the special card, please provide the special APN. China Unicom & CDMA no need to set.
2. When connect the cables, do not put the cables into the high temperatures and the place where easily could be squeezing, meanwhile, it could not pull the cables too straightly in case broken the interior wires, the circuit of the terminals and vehicle must be packed well by insulating tape or glue protector, and keep it stable by the ribbon.
?3.Ensure that all equipment and cables are connected properly prior to connecting the terminal power supply. Do not install or disassemble the terminal when being energized; switch off the power supply at first if there is any omission or connection error.
4. Refer all installation and servicing of GPS Vehicle traveling recorder to dealers authorized by us or professional maintenance personnel of local after-sales office. The user is not allowed to remove or repair the terminal without our consent otherwise any damage caused by accordingly is excluded from the warranty.
5. Do not connect the GPS antenna to the GPRS/CDMA port of the terminal, similarly, do not connect the GPRS/CDMA antenna to the GPS port of the terminal otherwise the terminal fails to work normally.
6. As a wireless communication device, the power supply of the terminal shall be switched off when entering oil depot or sites with dangerous goods.
7.As a low power wireless transmitter and receiver, GPS Vehicle traveling recorder receives and transmits RF signal during operation. To avoid EMI or non-compatible configuration, please stop using the terminal in a place with relevant notice.
?8.Keep the vGPS Vehicle traveling recorder dry; contact local dealer or after-sales office immediately when being exposed to dripping or splashing, and do not start the vehicle prior to consultation otherwise we’ll assume no liability for any damage caused by accordingly.
?9.GPS receives signals from the satellite in the sky; as being not synchronous with the earth, the satellite keeps changing its position against the vehicle. Therefore, the receiving effect is not good in some period of time (which varies in different regions) when the relative angle of satellite is small and signal tends to be affected by shielding effect generated by obstacles such as buildings. Generally, the bad GPS positioning effect occurs almost in a same period of time each day in one region.
IIIMain functions

1. Self-check
After power-on, the data recorder will inspect system parts and ports. After auto inspection, the sound of “tick -” and “****** Technology” appear on the LCD screen, which gives a hint to users that the recorder begins to work normally.
2. Record, storage and collection functions for real-time clock, date and driving time
The recorder provides date and clock in Beijing Time with the format year/month/day for real-time date and hour/minute/second for real-time clock.
3. Driving management
1) Mileage and Speed statistics
The GPS Traveling Recorder can count daily mileage, over-speed record, fatigue driving record , also could count the monthly vehicle driving record and the driver ‘s monthly driving record . ?
2) Record speed per minute
It could record the driving information within the latest 360 hours, also the average driving speed value of the corresponding every minute between the vehicle during traveling and the real time hour.
4. Speeding alarm and the Recording function
When a car is faster than the preset speed value (can be set, i.e. 120km/h), the immediate sound & quot;tick...& quot; will remind the driver to slow down to avoid accidents, and the over speed alarm data is submitted to scheduling monitoring center automatically. Meanwhile, GPS Traveling Recorder could record the times of the over-speed, over-speed starting time, over-speed ending time, the highest speed, as well as the driver’s driving license number etc.
5. Fatigue driving alarm and recording function
If a driver drives close to the value which have set before successively? , the GPS traveling recorder will give a sound warning prompt, and the sound will be keep remind for 5 minutes . If he keeps driving, the GPS Traveling recorder will begin to record and give sound warning;
6. Accident doubtful points record and analysis.
Record the latest 10 doubtful point’s data before brake within 20s. The recorder will record such data as traveling speed and brake etc within 20s before brake in every 0.2s;
7. Displaying and printing
Via LCD displays the vehicle related information , wireless communication parameter, the average speed before brake, the record of the fatigue driving , the current driver’s information , over-speed record, mileage record information, message menu, message information query, current speed and ACC, recorder series number etc information. It could be print the vehicle plate number, vehicle classify, driver code, driving license number, printing time, the average speed before brake within 15 minute, fatigue driving record and the driver’s signature when braked . ?
8. The driver files and traffic information management functions
GPS Traveling Recorder can record the identity of the driver, and the drivers insert USB identity card to confirm their code every time before each driving.

9. Power-off protection
GPS Traveling Recorder has power-off protection function, which means the recorded data will be maintained for 10 years.
10. Data Communication Function
GPS Traveling Recorder can collect recorder data and set parameters via serial port or wireless module;
11. Real-time Positioning and Tracking
GPS Traveling Recorderis available for submitting real time positioning information according to preset time interval to the server. The information includes time, latitude & longitude, speed, direction and the driving status etc to achieve the real time positioning tracking function. ?
12. Regional Speed Limit and Boundary Violation Alarm
Scheduling and monitoring center through the client-side to allocate the specific driving region, the GPS Traveling recorder will submitted the alarm information if the vehicle driving out the specified region.?

Scheduling and monitoring center set a region and also set the max speed limit value, the GPS traveling recorder will submitted the alarm information when the vehicle driving speed is over more than the preset max speed limit value.
13. Track Reappearance
The driving data, position information, speed, and time etc of a vehicle for a period of time may be saved in the server of the data center for query and reappearance through scheduling and monitoring center, and marked out with the map driving notice. The administrator could monitor the vehicle driving place anytime anywhere as well as the current speed.
14.Emergency Alarm
The scheduling and monitoring center will receive the alarm information if the Emergency key is pressed and held for more than 2 seconds in emergency. The emergency button could be placed where shady and also easily be touched for the driver. Scheduling and monitoring center could provide the help to the driver once got the alarm information.
15.Remote data pick up
Scheduling and monitoring center could remotely pick up the doubtful point record, over-speed record, fatigue record, and vehicle traveling record of the 360 hours.
16.Remote Oil and Power Breaking
Instruction for oil and power breaking may be sent to the vehicle from the scheduling and monitoring center for preventing the vehicle from driving as necessary.
17.Information Scheduling
Display the information sent down by the center on the scheduling screen directly.? And then broadcast it by voice.
18. Image monitoring
Send the photo taking command through the scheduling and monitoring center, and upload the vehicle on-the-spot
photo to the center , the upload manner could be collocate by yourself .
19. Image saved
The photo will be saved in SD card after the command allocate through the scheduling and monitoring center. And the photo which saved in SD card could be remotely picked up and viewed. Also could insert the SD card into PC for taking a view.
20. Invoice talking
Could be call the phone randomly through the communication handset, also could support to use mobile phone call terminal‘s SIM number to do the voice communication

VIIInstallation steps
1. Install SIM card:
Use the small cross screwdriver to open the four screw s on the upper cover of the GPS Traveling Recorder, Open the face cover of the SIM card, place the SIM card in the slot with proper force to avoid breaking the holder, and ensure that the SIM card is well contacted and secured. It is not allowed to insert or pull out the SIM card when the terminal is connected a power supply (similarly, cellular phone shall be powered off for inserting or pulling out of SIM card). After install SIM card well, packed the upper cover well, then screw up the screws.

2.Select the location for terminal installation:
# # ?Considerations shall be given to waterproof, shockproof, high-temperature protection and the safety and convenience of wiring route. Generally 24V big truck of the wire is nearby the copilot’s controlled box, 12V car of the wire is nearby down from the steering wheel of the controlled box .No matter big truck or car, the location is convenience.
# Waterproof: locations not being exposed to water are preferred to keep the terminal dry; keep the terminal away from air conditioner to protect the terminal against outside condensed water, which may affect the service life of the product seriously, when temperature varies.
# Shockproof: the terminal shall not be hanged in the air or in a place with frequent vibration.
# High-temperature protection: the terminal shall be kept away from heat sources in the vehicle.
# Wiring route: for large vehicles with general control switch, the wiring of power cord shall be considered for the position of terminal installation. 3M glue, metal wire and screws shall be applied to secure the terminal when the position is selected.

3. Connect the vehicle signal wire (Port 1 port )
Connect the cables of the Port 1 port: Connecting the red power cable which should connect the vehicle of the common power which also the vehicle of the main controlled power positive pole according to the cable connector definition of the GPS Traveling Recorder .The black power cable should connect to the power negative of the vehicle. About the vehicle signal wire and ACC signal wire please referring the next page details introductions.
Notice: The connection wire of the Port 1 port must be connect well?
Warning:
1. To be sure that power negative and heat shrinkable tube of GPS Traveling Recorder connected separated. Heat shrinkable tube takes iron directly
2. When inspecting wires, apply test lamp rather than poke them for inspection;
3. Enwind and bind up the whole wire with insulation adhesive tape and firmly fasten with wire clips; Please bind up temporarily unused wires separately, in order to avoid touching each other or short circuit to ground;
4.To confirm GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder, speed sensor and printer power not short circuit or reverse connect is a must;
5.It was prohibited inserting sheet metal, or injecting corrosive gas and liquid into USB and RS232 interface;
Introduction of Speed Signal Connection
When the speedometer is electronic and has speed signal output terminal (the output circuit generally adopts OC door drive), connect blue wire (No. 10); if there is no speed signal output terminal connected with the speedometer, in order to avoid to interference signal , then use shielding line (No.9)connect with the vehicle iron .
When the speedometer is mechanical; the Hall speed sensor is required to be installed.? See below:

Note:
Speed sensor’s positive and negative can connected only to DC 5V power provided by the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder only. Don& acute;t connect with vehicle power. (I.e. speed sensor’s positive must connected to the white wire (No. 11) of the vehicle power; speed sensor power negative must connected to the brown wire (No. 12) of the vehicle power.)
Remarks:
# # The positive power of speed sensor (i.e. red wire)
# The negative power of speed sensor (i.e. brown wire)
# Speed sensor signal (i.e., the core of the blue on the sensor), and
# The velocity sensor, the shield of 9 and recorder can heat shrinkable tube car at the same place up received by iron.
# Above if choose the GPS speed; do not connect the speed signal wire.
Introduction to Switch Signal Wire
# # Currently, the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder can connect 8 switch values (extended according to user’s requirements), among which, the brake signal is the necessary braking signal regulated by the international standard.
# If switch signal is the positive signal (enable high level), the recorder signal wire is connected at back of the switch;
# If switch signal is the negative signal (enable low level), the recorder signal wire is connected in front of the switch.

4. Install GPS antenna: ensure that the terminal is not energized!
a. Note: the curved side of receiving disc of GPS antenna shall face towards the sky and there shall be no metal obstacles or electromagnetic shielding above the antenna.
b.To obtain the best performance, the smooth side of receiving disc of GPS antenna shall be kept in balance to the greatest extent and the inclination shall be controlled within 45°;
c. Efforts shall be made to arrange the wire in concealed places for: 1 appearance; 2 preventing unintentional or intentional damage.
d. Recommended positions for installation of GPS receiving disc: concealed position under the front windshield, position under front dash board or under the decorative board beneath the rear windshield, best receiving effect is obtained if the disc is installed on the roof top.
e. The GPS antenna port shall be connected to the port marked with GPS at the terminal side and tightened to avoid loosened connection due to a long period of vibration, which may affect the receiving of satellite signal.
f. Generally, the GPS port at the terminal side is golden, so is the GPS antenna port!

5. Install GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna: ensure that the terminal is not energized!
a. To avoid signal interference, the GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna shall be protected from mingling with other control buses;
b. To prevent the GSM/GPRS/CDMA signal from interfering with internal wireless device (for example radio), it is recommended to keep the antenna 50cm away from these devices;
c. Recommended positions for installation of GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna: concealed position under the front windshield, position under seat or under the decorative board beneath the rear windshield.
d. To obtain good effect, it is recommended to separate the terminal from the GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna and the GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna from the GPS antenna, and try the best to keep no less than 15cm of distance between them;
e. The GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna may be secured with double-sided tape, and the host connector shall be aligned with the host port and tightened to prevent connection looseness due to long period of receiving and transmission of signal.
f. Generally, the GSM/ GPRS/CDMA port at the terminal side is GOLD, GPS is the silver?

6. The installation for the Accessories:
1)Handset: is used for talking; plug the 8-core port to the terminal port. Note: do not expose the handset in sunshine otherwise the service life would be shortened.
2)Hand-free Sound and monitoring MIC : ?it is recommended to install the hand-free MIC and monitor MIC in a concealed place where good voice signal is received and the MIC shall be secured with double-sided tape. The hand-free speaker shall be installed 1m away from the hand-free MIC to avoid interference; the hand-free shall not be installed opposite to the hand-free MIC, otherwise surrounding sound will be generated to affect voice quality.
3)Oil and power breaker:? oil and power breaking control line for the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder is used to control the oil line or hardwired on-off of the vehicle, need to match up and use with the relay . it is connected as follows:

A. For 12V vehicle, use 12V relay
1) White small wire connects with the signal controlled wire (Brown wire) of the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder;
2) Yellow small wire connects with the vehicle’s main power (vehicle hot wire);
3) Two thick green wire of the relay normally closed contact need to series connect with the oil line or circuit controlled line;

B.For 24 V vehicle use 24 V relay, the connection manner are the same as the 12 V. Please refer to above descriptions.
Emergency Alarm button installation (port2 cable yellow wire)
C. The installation for the emergency alarm should be consider the convenience factor firstly, so that could be operate during send the help convenience
D. Secondly should be considering the elusive during the special conditions , such as when in cheating and stealing status , you could not let the criminals knew there is a alarm device .Generally , it is advised to install nearby the drivers’ could be easily touched place .
E. The one end of the alarm button connect port2 yellow wire, the another end of the alarm button connect vehicle power negative pole (or takes iron).

Oil sensor installation: Need add an extra oil sensor.
F: Locating: Generally put the middle of the tank, and also should avoid oil float.
G: To clean the dirty which in tank open pole position, clean away the oil dirty which on tank installation.
H: Drill hole : Use pistol drill to stick 50mm metal open hole drill , then let it power on , drill the appointed the middle of the tank , (note: when you drill the tank , please do not drill to quickly . when it will drill out almost , please use screwdriver and sharp-nose pliers to pull down the drilled metal in avoid to fall into the tank)
I.Cleaning up: use a constrictive file to remove the burrs on the opening and put into the oil tank a magnet tied with a thread to suck out scrap iron.
J. Take out the sensor customized by the manufacturer according to vehicle type, remove the protective cover of the floater and screw off 5 fitting screws and 5 tapping screws with a screwdriver. Disconnect the sensor with the installation flange. Check the O-ring of the flange and dispose it on the hole already made if it is found intact.
K.??? Fixing: Use an electrical hand drill clamped with a 2mm bit, drill holes in the 5 fluted holes for mounting flange (drill the oil tank through), apply metal sealant on the 5 tapping screws respectively and fix the flange onto the oil tank. Mount the sensor on the flange and screw it down with the 5 screws.
L.Sealing: Apply metal sealant around the connection point of the flange with the oil tank for a turn.
Wire connecting: The fuel level sensor has 3 wires and the red one normally stands for anode of power source while the black for cathode and the blue one for oil level signal line. The connection is so made that the anode and cathode of the power source for port 2 and oil level sensor are connected to pink and black wires at the connection point of port 2 respectively while the blue wire of oil level sensor is connected to the blue wire of port 2. Wrap the joints with black tape after connection, but preferably use wire sleeve Wire route shall be arranged along the vehicle girder.

7.The installation for the camera:
Use the connection wire of the camera insert into the connection wire of the Port 3.
8. Power up for testing after the inspection has been passed!
1) Do the inspection for the GPS antenna, GSM/GPRS/CDMA antenna, and make sure whether the connection right or wrong, as well as whether stable;
2) Do the inspection for the positive and negative of the power wire and the positive and negative of the vehicles power , and make sure whether the connection are right or not .
3)After the inspection have been passed , then connects the 16 core terminal into the Port 1 connector , and then the GPS vehicle traveling recorder will do the self-check , and then display the current speed , the internet status as well as the signal status etc information on LCD screen .

If the self-check fails and the connection of GPS Vehicle traveling recorder are validated to be correct, please immediately replace the failed recorder with a new one and send the failed recorder for repairing.

2) The GPS Vehicle traveling recorder has four buttons named as “Menu/OK”, “Page Up”, “Page Down” , “Back/Print” respectively. The & quot;Menu& quot; is mainly used to page the display screen and confirm operations. “Page Up” and “Page Down” is mainly used to display information and feature selection that covers more than one screen. “Cancel/Print” is mainly used to cancel operations and print.
2. Login
When the driver is switched or the driver logs in for the first time, the driver should insert the driver identification card into the USB interface of the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder to authenticate. This operation is called “Login”. When the Login operation is succeeded, the buzzer sounds a tone like “tick - tick” and the LCD screen displays the driver ID of the present driver (it is assumed that the driver ID of the present driver is 100088)
3.Fatigue driving alarm
Fatigue Driving : The continuous driving time of the same driver exceeds the preset hours value (The standard international fatigue driving time is 240 minutes)
When the recorder detects that there will be a fatigue driving, it will warn 5 minutes in advance. Now, the buzzer sounds a medium-long tone like “tick-- tick--” for 1 minute.

Buzzer sounds a liaison like “tick, tick tick, tick ” 5 minutes after the alarm and the recorder begins to record the fatigue driving and the alarm time is also 1 minute. At this time, the recorder will record the license number of this driver and the start and end time of fatigue driving.
Notice:
If the stopping time exceeds the limit of 20 minutes or switch the driver, it will be as considered as a real rest. Or it will be still considered as continuous driving.

Notice: Here, the maximum speed refers to the maximum speed set in the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder, but not for the allowed highest speed of vehicles, nor the maximum speed limited by road.
The conditions for the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder to detect speeding data: the average speed within continued 5 seconds exceeds the maximum speed set in the GPS vehicle traveling recorder.
When the over-speed driving occurred, GPS vehicle traveling recorder will load the over-speed driving information through the GPRS internet to the center server.

“Over speed 01“is for the first piece over speed information. “168881688888888888“is for the over speed driving license number.”110” is for the speed. And the later is for the over speed starting time and the closing time.

8) SMS menu

7.Communication
The Vehicle Traveling Recorder can make a two-way data transmission, i.e. upload and download. Download: data transmission from central PC to the recorder. The data include vehicle characteristic coefficient, plate number, VIN, driver’s code, driver’s license number and real-time clock.
Upload: data transmission from the recorder to central PC. The data include the download data stated above and: accumulative mileage within 360 hours, average speed of each minute, accumulative mileage within 2 calendar days before parking and all fatigue driving record.
This GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder offers three means of communication: USB communications, RS232 interface communications and GPRS communications.

1). USB communication
First, format the USB disk with the FAT format. Then, set the USB disk ID card or setting card and acquisition card by management software of the Recorder. Connect the USB disk to the USB port, then the Recorder will access to the USB communication interface automatically after the USB device is detected. When the communication is completed, the Recorder will go back to clock mode.
Note: If there is no collected files in USB disk, then the collected data is for the national standard data, if there is collected files, then the collected data is for the national standard data and the tracking data.

Note: Do not unplug the USB disk in course of communication, or it may cause damage to the device.
2). RS232 interface communication
Connect the host computer to the Recorder through serial ports. After received instructions from the host computer, the Recorder will access to the RS232 communication interface to transmit data.
3) GPRSCDMA communication
To use GPRS could dispatch to set the max time speed, accident doubtful data, send the word information to the GPS Vehicle traveling recorder from center PC.
4) The vehicle information and the parameters setting
Could set by USB disk : vehicle plate number , characteristic coefficient , over-speed alarm value , vehicle VIN , speed choice(vehicle pulse speed and GPS speed ) , IP address and port , SIM card number , characteristic coefficient automatic adjusting etc .

5) About the characteristic coefficient automatic adjusting.
The GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder inserts the setting card made by the USB disk, choose the characteristic coefficient standard interface by “Menu” button and “page down “button, and operate by the instruction.
6)?collect the data
Do insert the collected card which have set well already into the GPS Vehicle Traveling Recorder , LCD will display “ collecting the data ….please wait for a while!”, after the collected succeed “tick “ two times warning , after the back light extinguished , then pull out the USB disk , could look over the collected 32kb national standard data and tracking data .

Will the installation of the GPS terminal affect the normal use and operation on the vehicle?
A: No. The installation only needs to connect some cables, no big change was made, and as long as the connection is right, cable well wrapped and make sure there is no short-circuit leakage, there will be no effect to the vehicle.
1.? There is difference/error on device compared time display on the LCD to the local time, how can it be handled?
Run the management software, connect the device through port RS232 to change on the PC, or schedule from the monitor centre.
2.? Why the U-disk can not collect data from GPS terminal?
Under such a case, usually it is because there are too many file fragments in the U-disk or the files belong to other format the device can not read. To solve this problem you have to backup save the U disk files first then format it with FAT, try to collect data, it works.
3. Why the LCD on the device have no display after connect to power.
Check out whether the electrode reversed, if clear, check the fuse. ( change a new? Φ5×20 3A fuse, if it is blown ), the last is try to connect another device, normal, please turn to your distributor.
4. The vehicle is running, there is no speed on the LCD?
Check the speedometer; if there is no speed either, there should be problem with gear-box speed sensor. If the speedometer works well, there might be wrong connection of the speed cable.
The easy way to check the speed cable:
Connect the blue cable (No.10) of the device with a testing needle when vehicle is running, prod the cable of the speedometer to see if there is speed display on the LCD of the device.
5. GPS positioning abnormal
Check if the antenna mounted at a proper place, try whether the device gets good signals when the antenna set at out door , or the signal gets stronger when face the antenna to the sky. Check whether the power voltage is normal.
6. GSM/GPRS/CDMA communication abnormal
Check whether the GSM/GPRS/CDMA? network supports thedevice.Whether the SIM card is loaded right? Whether the SIM card is run out of credit? Whether the SIM support SMS function?Is there any policy of the SIM card which limites the use of the mobile, the SIM can not fit certain type of mobiles? Any pass word or authorization of the SIM card? Whether the power voltage is enough for the device?
